Who we are
The group was founded by Mr.N.Ponnambalam Pillai (NMP) – the grandfather of the present Managing Partner, Mr.V.Muthukumar – who was primarily a yarn trader, Handloom lungis manufacturer and Exporter. In his initial years of 1930s he had established a name for himself in the yarn business in the temple city of Chidambaram. In 1943, the firm Kasthuribai & Co. was established that went into retail textile business starting the operations first at 74, West Car Street, Chidambaram from where we are operating till date, after expanding the business periodically. Though we do not have any records to fall back, we were advised by our fore fathers that the turnover of KBC in the first year of establishment was Rs.10 lakh which we consider significant in the context of the fact that it was over 7 decades ago. We have now completed 75 years of our existence & have now grown into one of the leading multi-product, multi-brand textile showroom in Chidambaram with an established client loyalty & brand name. We have established ourselves as house-hold name in Chidambaram & neighboring locations. Our undisputed reputation stems from our unflinching dedication to give our customers the highest quality, exclusive and diverse clothing options and unmatched customer service.
